A Virtual Look into a Real-Life Meg Thee Stallion Concert

Rapper and cultural icon, Megan Pete, aka Meg Thee Stallion, graced the stage wearing a sparkly, bright red collegiate crop top and matching sparkly shorts at North Carolina State University’s Homecoming Concert on Nov. 7, 2019.

Lit by colorful streaming lights, a flashy DJ setup, and Meg’s smile, the large theatre was filled to capacity to see the iconic, Meg Thee Stallion

Making a statement by simply existing, Thee Stallion first came into the music industry in 2018 causing an uproar. Being a tall, voluptuous, FEMALE rapper, who describes most of her music as “raunchy” and talks with unapologetic vulgarity, had her (male) rapper counterparts’ panties in a bunch.

Originally from Houston, Texas, the rapper constantly gives credit to and brags about her longtime friend and producer, LilJuMadeDaBeat, who produces most of the high-powered, boisterous beats in most of her songs.

Meg starts the evening off with one of her most iconic songs, “Realer”, from her Fever mixtape

She performs most of her songs that could be considered “club music”, rather than some of her slower, rap ballads.

Throughout the entire evening, the rapper and professional twerker was seen taking phones from college fans in the audience and recording videos on them as she performed.

Loud and proud, the high energy of the crowd remains as the night continues on

By the middle of the night, Meg invites many college students to grace the stage alongside her, her three bodyguards, a camera crew, and the DJ/MC. One of her famous songs, “Simon Says” is the perfect invitation for a twerking lesson from Thee Stallion herself.

With the help of the DJ hyping up the crowd (shoutout to DJ Kool Herc), dancing and call-and-responses were present throughout the entire night with the crowd screaming Meg’s lyrics with her.

“Real hot girl shit!” echoed from Meg throughout the night, continuing with her performances of “Cocky AF”, “Sex Talk”, “Hot Girl Summer”, “Big Ole Freak”, and the infamous song, “Hot Girl” from her very first studio-recorded EP, Tina Snow, which is also one of Meg’s many aliases.

She ends the show by repping those various personas by boasting,

“I go by the name of Megan Thee mfn Stallion, AKA Young Tina Snow, AKA Thee mfn Hot Girl Coach… and if you ain’t know about me… ask ya boo,”

and takes many selfies and videos with the audience before officially ending the performance and leaving the stage.

This performance was so high energy, even just watching a video of the concert made me want to get up and dance. Meg’s facial expressions; constantly sticking out her tongue and smiling, makes you can’t help but to smile with her.

This performance was heavy on crowd interaction, which worked well for the demographic of the audience. Not a seat was left unfilled, except for when the crowd was up dancing and twerking.

Meg’s succession has only risen after this performance, and year, in general. Shocking people by being featured on Cardi B’s song, “WAP”, and releasing her first official studio album, “Good News”, Megan Thee Stallion has only gotten more well-known.

After this performance (and after COVID), I am most definitely booking a ticket to a Meg Thee Stallion concert. Since I am a hot girl, it’s where I deserve to be. Real hot girl shit. Ah!
